RE-EDUCATING RODRIGO

RODRIGO {Photo: Duterte Today FB Page]

All of us who are worth anything,
spend our manhood in unlearning the follies,
or expiating the mistakes of our youth.
-SHELLEY

While for some twisted loop and leap of destiny our third world country elected a president who dared promise a decent society free of the ills of mind warping substances, sticky itchy fingered officials who dipped on public funds as their own, and the elimination of pseudo humans who only did intriguing tasks that created havoc upon a race systematically razed of moral decency and self-value in the distant and immediate history; so to speak.  A charming puck faced crowned by a dominantly fat disproportionate nose rose from the ranks of mayoralty of a southern city became the highest elected official of the land; amazing as it may seem but his notoriety was totally ignored just for the sake of 'someone' unorthodox and therefore new.  New but jaded that he is, one cannot deny but join the fanfare and wish for the best.  His brand of speech is not without the local cuss.  Even as a visayan speaking dude, he maintained the crisp tagalog PUTANGINA.  He has explained once too many that it is 'out of habit' and may not mean a thing to anyone not within the firing range.  His speeches these past eight months are what in the Cebuano dialect describe as YAWYAW.  A trail of thoughts not well thought of and centered upon HIM as he is; his rise to the current status and the masturbatory hatred of DRUGS. He claims that the evil it creates is unimaginable yet totally disregard the fact that there are MORE than 97 million brown souls with aspirations, hopes, dreams and lives that toe the endemic human nature : GOODNESS.  He has over read himself to believe that it SIMPLY is the DANGEROUS DRUGS that will ruin the land of 'his' people.  Scanning through decades of its prevalence in our society, had it been as LETHAL as he croons it to be, he should have not lived to be 72.  It is getting evident  everyday that this man, a former Mayor of Davao City who now IS the President of the Philippines was reared by humanoids who molded him to deny what is logically acceptable and be adamant with his hand of steel to retrace the subtle beauty of how it is to be daintily human.  He can only be nice to those who favor his ways and he make sure that those who oppose will experience the wrath of the abominable ape man of Mt. Apo. But then, is there any choice?  Unseating him will cause precious hours of deliberation not to mention how much it will cost; defying him will cost lives and dreams of a nation to become a haven of progress and a dominant global identity.  We can only wish that he is open for a thorough RE-EDUCATION.  A crash course on humility, dignity and industry to focus firmly on what is moral even to a child.

The course won't be easy.  It seems that he is driven by patronage.  A patronage to the terror as the only solution to mesh that wild side of society that is deeply rooted upon our culture.  He should deny himself of a lot of what he is already made of.  In most of his pronouncements, he is proud that he allegedly has jump started Davao City to what it is now; but then there are far more elegantly developed cities and regions built by a common effort of its constituents.  He even slurs on a divine entity who fears him enough that he tosses the poor deity into his garbage talk.  Rodrigo believes that IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE WHAT IS GOOD, A BAD THING HAS TO HAPPEN.  An adage too common in the bowels of losers and unloved souls.  Every time he addresses a crowd, he warms up with jokes and later create an atmosphere of HATE.  For a highly-esteemed elected personality, the last thing that anyone wants to perceive is convolution against self.  The laughter dies down and everybody wonders what the hell he just said.  There has been not a single speech that inspired his countrymen to uphold their love of country by embracing the unknown with strength of spirit and respect for their roots so as to procreate a much healthier citizenry to wade through the tides of time.
His continued slurs of him being poor in the academics and lifting himself beyond his peers to where it brought him is so sick.  To say it bluntly, his speeches is 90% SHIT and 10% substantially acceptable.

The outrage he exhibits toward our global allies are astonishing.  How in the world would a nation survive by itself? Perhaps for a short period of time but in the end as breath in the same atmosphere, we can only rely on diplomacy to safeguard our role as a geographically fractured dot on the planet.  His wits must have been eroded with his beliefs that boogie-ing with the grand China is enough.  Perhaps, but what is with the BAD MOUTHING ORAL DIARRHEA  he does whenever given the microphone?

THIRD WORLD LIVING , a blog which simply bear the inspiration to be a reminder of what we are still as a nation and will simply detonate once we breathe the sweet scent of sophistication and class has never thought of getting into the nitty-gritty of our president's demeanor.  He is totally a hard nut to crack.  Before an eventful milestone occurs, RODRIGO should take a month's leave from office; as himself, he should travel alone to an island; maybe Batanes or somewhere in Sulu or Borneo and carry with him as much literature on Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity, Islam, etc, lay them all and read them a page at a time.  This will give him an absolute access to the age-old wisdom of what is expected of HUMAN BEINGS.  He should enjoy the fantastic entries of them all, but should be wise enough not take it seriously.  He will also realize that addiction to substances is as old as civilization and that the evil that man is capable of is brought about by HIMSELF and that, the INFLUENCE is only made as a scapegoat.  He should also polish his gift of tongue, to process what goes into the methodology of spoken matters.  Again, he should do this alone in an environment of land, sea and solitude.  He should carefully acknowledge his imagined enemies as important as his existence and the responsibility fate has brought upon his lap.  He should totally take this by himself and uninfluenced by technology.  A month may be too short, taking into consideration how scarred his soul is; but nature will lead him the way , and he should allow it to detoxify his spirit and spring back as a WORKING PRESIDENT , inspiring his people and inculcate the beauty of cooperation, respect, education, as well as the WILL TO SURVIVE THE ODDS WITHOUT SHEDDING BLOOD AIMLESSLY.

TOUCHE.

THIRD WORLD LIVING ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS

Frankly , I haven't heard of her before the story conference of Howard Yambao's BEST. PARTEE. EVER, entry to last year's QC INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL starring JC De Vera.  JC played a straight-acting gay man caught in nasty broil of Ecstasy addiction and trade.  The film was shot almost in its entirety in the confines of provincial jail where I played a hot headed old fag jailbird. At the conference, as we were introduced, she caught my attention.  Well-made up and in a cocktail dress she amiably smiled at everyone , her name: CATALEYA SURIO.  As we were given a rundown of role assignments, I realized that she was playing a transwoman in for some crime and detained in the male cell.  This was because in the Philippines, a sexually re-assigned is still recognized with what is on one's birth certificate.  Ah, alright. "As far as I remember, I was ALWAYS a girl", Cataleya nonchalantly declares in our online interview.  Orphaned at a very young age, She

Mercedes Cabral : The Soul Of A 3rd World Actor

... pensive.  THE Mercedes Cabral! As a child, it may have occurred to her that one near future she was going to wear skins of a myriad of women [and men?]. It may not have come as a wondrous dream but rather a steamy afterthought.

PaulHRoquia's SHREDDED PAPER ART

I guess it was in the early part of the new millenium that a paper shredder found its way to my realm.  My brother, also as gay as the month of May who happens to be an anthropologist and a consultant of multinational entities sought the contraption to do away with confidential files .  Being manual, I shared the chore of destroying reams of documents and when there was almost a mountain pile I found it rather interesting.  I kept them in a box where for whatever reason , I'd grab a handful and start a bush fire [I was quite ignorant then of the Clean Air Act];  keep fragile gifts cushioned inside their boxes and even mix them with the  kapok in my pillows.
