Rodrigo had it coming. With Leni Robredo as his VP, he must have shrunk in dismay when the final results blasted into the tally boards. He must have cringed with the idea that she wasn't going to be a peeble but rather a rat on his shoe who would chew away the nastiness that he was accustomed to. Those who doubt the democratic exercise screamed [and filed protests later, and ongoing still] anomaly to the highest order. But she was proclaimed and well went to her way as the second most powerful person in the land. Known to be naughty and oddly disrespectful to women, the Bicolana widow readily was outspoken with every single malicious thought, deed or insinuation thrown at her. Frankly, Rodrigo's treatment to a lady is beyond wits for comfort. Imagine an old man ogling at the length of her dress to a meeting ; or a supposedly respectable man firing her cabinet seat through text. He harps that he is beyond politics but he clearly shuns her since she is what he calls dilawan. How was he ever going to gain her loyalty and trust when he was to put it mildly a song out of tune? Actually at normal times, a vice president simply sits at an office, do miscellaneous duties but always ready to become president at any eventuality or run for the highest office in the next elections. If Rodrigo only situated her in a comfortable way for her to sleep through the term, he would have made himself a gentleman of the highest order. Having lived in Bicol for almost 15 years and made lasting friendships ; I cannot think of disrespecting a Bicolana. They are such fun-loving and nurturing souls and their wit is beyond compare. In Leni's case, I am sure she was willing to embrace the thought of supporting her president but him being not embraceable with his uncouth conduct and loose tongue; she merely gave him his dose. Afterall, survival of the fittest is human as well as animal nature. With Leni's staunch opposition against EJK and making the mile to globally reproach it is a nut quite hard to crack. Now that Rodrigo is as predictable as he possibly can, it would take twice his manhood to rebuild the crumbling imagery he has exposed himself into. His cohorts, err followers, men in congress may seem to be toeing a bridge of thread to keep him upright but sad to say he has dug his grave to political extinction quite deeply now. His popularity is dwindling ; it will take a miracle to reheat the support that he got before and after he was seated as president. Now it all appears that he is the biggest endorser of prohibited drugs now that those addicted to it is a mere four million compared to the ninety-seven million upright citizens. He must have not realized that to eliminate evil, one must be a greater evil. Evil , Leni is NOT.
